Phaseolus beans (Leguminosae, Phaseoleae): a checklist and notes on their taxonomy and ecology

چکیده
This work presents an updated list of the species belonging to genus Phaseolus following its definition 1978; it is outcome study eighty-six herbaria and forty-one explorations in field period 1978–2019. There are currently eighty-one species, all them native Americas, most distributed north Panama (the a migrant into South America), half being known by very few records. They thrive warm mild temperate, seasonally dry, open forest, with rains under favorable temperature, from sea level up 3,000 m. The recent increase number recognized due endemic ones; this combination unclassified specimens may indicate that total not final yet, will be rewarding.
